FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The length of the surface rollers are too long and we are getting crease lines left on our greens from the weight at the end of the surface rollers when rolling across undulations

We here at Tru-Turf have proudly produced a machine that almost completely eliminates all of the problems associated with other styles of rollers. We now give you a wider roll - 48" with 2x24"(600mm) dual shorter surface rollers which prevents line creasing on the green no matter in which direction the green is rolled. The shorter surface rollers swivel and pivot in all required directions, allowing the drive roller and smoothing rollers to be in total contact with the surface at all times. Top^
The rollers are extremely difficult and time consuming to transport from green to green

The Tru-Turf trailer system is integral with the machine. This system is quick and easy to use and saves valuable time when moving from green to green. Top^
Why are the rollers so heavy?

The weight of our roller is lighter than other machines. Heavy machines produce compaction of the soil. We realise that the three main ingredients required to compact soil are - a) water, b) vibration and c) weight. Compaction of the soil is a constant battle to eliminate; hence we recommend incorporating lightweight rolling, deep spiking, drilling, coring and top dressing to assist in relieving this problem. Our technology produces a lighter 'pounds per square inch' result than any other greens roller ever produced. What allows us to have such a light machine is the style of 'smoothing head' fitted with 3 unevenly spaced rollers. This patented style of head does not require any great weight for it to 'true away' high spots and greens imperfections. It is like 'trowelling' the surface - allowing a perfectly true surface for putting. Also there are other benefits such as increasing the BRD (Ball Roll Distance), and reducing the number of mowings per week, creating less stress on the grass which in turn produces a healthier truer surface on the greens. Some rollers are difficult and hard to steer

Our unique single handed joystick steering control is all that is required to steer. In fact the Tu-Turf range of rollers feel like they are fitted with power steering! They are extremely light and easy to steer - this comment being made by all operators. Allow just 3-4 greens to get used to the sideways movement of the machine and you'll become a very proficient operator. Top^
We have a lot of difficulty in climbing certain sloping greens

Maximum traction in our machines is acquired via a high quality rubber coated drive roller vulcanised to a steel tube, cylindrically machined for trueness and grip. The roller surface is guaranteed for the life of the machine when used only on the greens surface. The low centre of gravity aids in climbing safety. Top^
It takes us too long to roll 18 greens

With a Tru-Turf roller the time taken to roll your greens will be no longer than it does to cut them - and in most cases rolling is much quicker. Top^
