About Us, Pictorial History, Original Patent or Australiana

Forestfield Pty Ltd (ABN 25 010 896 429), trading as Tru-Turf Equipment, was incorporated on January 26, 1989 - Australia Day - and is a privately owned and operated Australian company.

The business is based at Ernest, Queensland, Australia on the Golf Coast surfing, tourist and golfing strip, some 80 kilometres (50 miles) south of Brisbane.

Ray Dufty and Dorothy Rix are Directors of Forestfield Pty. Ltd.

The late Mr. Ronald Swynerton Kaye was the original inventor of turf rollers back in the early 1940's.

It was in the early 1970's when Ron invented the first sideways moving, ride-on turf polisher / roller, convincing the world that 2½" (62mm) diameter sets of rollers would be more effective and produce a truer surface than the 3 foot diameter (915mm) rollers then being used.

Ron, a world leader in turf rolling, was called upon to assist in repairing and truing the Lawn Bowls Greens at the Commonwealth Games, Edmonton, Canada in 1978.

After meeting with Ron in the late 1980’s, Ray and Ron combined their wealth of experience and engineering expertise to produce a range of quality products specifically suited to the rolling of golf greens.

Tru-Turf Equipment’s products are now being used in Australia, USA, Canada, South East Asia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, England, India and Europe.

Paramount to the success of our achievements, it is our policy to meet the needs of the turf industry, to manufacture equipment to the highest standard and performance whilst being simple to operate and maintain.

We back this up with a high level of after sales service, spare parts availability and free technical advice.
